You can adapt any holistic mind body healing technique to your Reiki practice. Reiki's hand positions are universal and most are inherent. We naturally place our hands on our forehead when we have anxiety or stress and we may naturally place our hands on the back of our head as well.
Apply the method in this video as a self care treatment.
Connect to your Reiki practice consciously with any of these methods.
- You may simply be aware of Reiki,
- draw your Reiki symbols,
- recite the Reiki principles.
- Connect with your intention in your mind. This is what you want to accomplish.
- Watch the video
- place hands on the areas shown in the video
- relax and allow your Reiki state and the hand positions to ease any pain and stress.
In addition to this you may rate your emotions or pain on a scale of 1-10 ( 10 being severe) before you begin. Then rate again after your Reiki self treatment. By doing this you can help your brain to discover any improvements. Many times our mind perpetuates pain or worsens it with our beliefs, worry and stress. Rating to see your progress can retrain your brain to release it. It is helpful for you to be aware you can heal your own body and mind.
This practice can assist you in shifting into the present moment. It is in the present moment that healing occurs. In the present moment we are love. This is the state in which we treat ourselves and others with Reiki. Self Treatment daily will improve our ability to calm and slip into the present moment.
